What started as a great idea brought forth by local community member Steve Slack has turned into a fun and unique way to honour those people in your life who have been affected by cancer.

Make a personal donation of $20 in honour of a loved one before October 3rd for a chance to have their name printed on the upcoming Liquid Courage Lager label.  Liquid Courage will be a refreshing brew that is accessible enough for everyone to enjoy and will also come as a non-alcoholic option.

*All donors will receive a coupon for one free beer at the Town Brewery taproom as a token of our appreciation

*** NOMINATE A NAME HERE ***

Donations made toward Liquid Courage name nominations will be directed toward cancer care equipment, capital and research priorities at Lakeridge Health.  Funds will help advance cancer services and care at the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, throughout Durham Region and beyond.

*Only a limited number of spots will be available on the commemorative can.  Names will be drawn on October 4th

*Charitable tax receipts will be sent after the submission closing date of Oct 3

"I am always looking for ways that I can make an impact in the cancer care space.  Also, as a grateful patient, I love supporting Lakeridge Health Foundation and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre.

When I pitched this idea to Town Brewery in Whitby, they jumped at the chance to bring my vision to life. They were super enthusiastic and signed on right away.  I'm also thrilled that they're creating a non-alcoholic version because so many of us patients simply can't or stop drinking during and after treatment. Together we get the chance to recognize 100 patients, survivors and loved ones in our community and I'm so excited!"

- Steve Slack, colon and liver cancer survivor, liver transplant recipient and Bowmanville resident
